In an interesting development, the 38-year-old pacer, who was once a frontline seamer for India across formats, has now moved on from Vidarbha after 18 years since making his first-class debut in 2008.
He hasn’t featured for Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy since October 2024, while his previous appearance for the team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy came on December 11, 2023. Although he was part of the team in the shortest format, he did take part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last season.

Umesh Yadav has informed the Vidarbha Cricket Association of his decision to leave the team and is currently in talks with other state associations to represent them in the upcoming domestic season.
While speaking to TOI, Umesh Yadav said, “I have decided to move on from this season and play for another state. I have got my NOC from Vidarbha Cricket Association.”
This massive decision comes after he did not get clarity on his future with Vidarbha.

His first appearance for India came in May 2010 in a T20I against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, while he last played an international game in the WTC 2023 Final against Australia at The Oval in June 2023.
